Electronic text for PPSE

Hi Ms. Kini and Ms.Grover,
It’s just an idea. I was wondering that how nice it would be to have an electronic or digital format of the reading material for PPSE so that system savvy readers and writers can fill in their thoughts on the appropriate areas. It’s like highlighting certain parts of the test and jotting on the sides of the sheet. Things may be more user friendly then, provided we promote the use of technology.

  • Bala, I'm pretty sure you're in a minority here (smile).

Anyway, we did give this some thought in the past--

    (1) We felt that most of the course participants would prefer hard copies (either due to an affinity to "tangible" matierals or because access to a computer then becomes a non-issue).

    (2) While some of our readings are available as soft copies, articles photo-copied from books or journals are not.

    (3) We weren't sure how legal it would be to put up soft copies of such articles and papers for public access on the net.

That said, if you are keen on electronic versions of some of the articles, I'm sure we could email them to you. You have only to ask :)

  • Yes, Bala - I like electronic reading material, specially when I am writing an article as highlighting and tagging passages is so much easier. I have Text in Context as an e-copy and can send you that.
