+ 2 group's next three CASW sessions
... will be on next Wednesday 22nd - Bala's - and March 8th, another Wednesday, - Anu's and Vijaya's.
Regarding reward/ punishment - I feel rewards matter , while fear and punishment doesn't - as for applying brain based learning strategies, it may be a bit unpopular because actual implementation is harder than expected....

I think perhaps brain-based learning strategies are harder to implement because they
1) need more detailed planning
2) need more active facilitation from the teacher
3) need the teacher to give up 'control' as a child-centred classroom rather than a teacher-centred classroom
All this is much harder than a direct teaching lesson out of a text book where the expected behaviour from the students is "sit quietly and pay attention". "If you move out of your seat you will be punished."
What we have to think vey carefully is what do we really want? A class full of obedient, "well-behaved" children, or a roomfull of thinking, active brains?

Hmmm.. the comment I posted above needed to be a response to some other posting!! Never mind.
OK, Mrs. Warrior wanted to audit a CASW session - shall we invite her for the Feb 22nd or the March 8th one?

Yes, Koshy, that was a reply to your posting. I think I was in and out of too many postings and was beginning to get rather befuddled! I shall ask Mrs. Warrior if she is free and would like to come to the 22nd session.
